SpaceWire and SpaceFibre Tutorials
Two tutorials one of SpaceWire and the other on SpaceFibre are available free of charge to people registered for the SpaceWire conference late on the afternoon of Monday 10th June. Please register for the tutorial sessions when registering for the SpaceWire conference.
SpaceWire Tutorial
16:00-17:00 Monday 10th June
SpaceWire is a well-established technology for spacecraft on-board data networking. Over the past ten years engineers have been designing SpaceWire into a wide range of space missions, leading to a wealth of experience about SpaceWire. This tutorial aims to address some of the dos and don'ts about SpaceWire. Leading SpaceWire engineers from across the world will present their experience of using SpaceWire, the problems encountered and the solutions developed to cope with the issues that arose.
SpaceFibre Tutorial
17:00-1800 Monday 10th June
SpaceFibre is a new specification for spacecraft on-board networking which offers multi-Gbits/s data rates, galvanic isolation, fault detection isolation and recovery mechanisms built into the hardware, and comprehensive quality of service support integrated into the hardware. SpaceFibre supports packets that are identical to SpaceWire packets allowing simple bridging with existing SpaceWire networks. The SpaceFibre tutorial will introduce the SpaceFibre specification and provide initial feedback from international engineers that have implemented SpaceFibre prototypes.
